At Sherwood School we value the many special features that make our school "Our School"...
First and foremost we are a rural school. We have a strong community atmosphere both
within the school and in the district. Our school is an important part of our community.
We promote country values to develop well rounded kids.
We still hold annual pet days, this is a day that both the students and the community enjoy.
We organise frequent community gatherings and fun events.
We have a specialist music, drama and dance teacher.
Our year 8 students annually take part in the Tiriha Tramp, a truly awesome experience.
We hold an annual triathlon for students, open to the the wider CHB district.
We have a well maintained swimming pool, with its use integrated into the curriculum.
The Sherwood Playgroup meet weekly in the hall next door. Visits between the school and Playgroup assist with a smooth transition to school.
The school owns a mini bus for use on school trips, easing the load on parent transport.
We have school camps and plenty of education outside of the classroom.
Interactive whiteboards make up part of the learning programme in the classroom and we have a well resourced computer suite.
Our whole school participate in many cultural, sporting and academic events throughout our region.

Board Of Trustees:
We are an approachable group of parents, teachers and community members working hard for our kids, families and community. Our aim is to have the best little rural school in New Zealand! We offer a well-rounded, excellent education for our children (that only a well-supported rural school can) so that they can succeed anywhere in their future lives.
Teaching Staff:
Sherwood is blessed to have a very dedicated and motivated team of educators. Their professionalism and enthusiasm for the school and their high educational expectations provide an environment where all students want to participate and learn.
F.O.S.S. - Friends of Sherwood School is a dedicated group of parents who raise funds and organise events for the school and community. Annual events include the trail bike ride, the Sherwood Triathlon, Cattle Fund scheme and numerous family sports days. The money raised is always put to good use for the students’ benefit.
