We are a Thrive school. This means that we support our students to:

Thrive is an evidence-informed, developmental and trauma sensitive approach to meeting the emotional and social needs of children. 

Thrive provides schools with training resources and an online tool to help them better understand the needs of pupils and provide them with targeted effective support.

Although Thrive has been working in the UK with educators and organisations to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn since 1994, it is very new to New Zealand.

Sherwood School is one of only a very small number of schools using this approach.
